History of the WorldSkills Kazakhstan movement

Kazakhstan became a member of the WorldSkills association in 2014 and has been actively developing in various events.

The mission of WorldSkills Kazakhstan is to develop mechanisms for staffing high-tech industries in technical professions based on international standards, including mechanisms for career guidance, personnel training, the formation of expert communities and increased labor productivity.

Every year the championship's popularity among young people grows. The main goal of the championship is to increase the efficiency of blue-collar and technical professions, as well as to attract attention to education in the field of vocational and technical education. In addition, an important aspect is the training of specialists who are competitive in the labor market and the selection of a regional team to participate in the national WorldSkills championship.

The WorldSkills methodology is one of the leading practices on a global scale. It provides championship participants with the opportunity to demonstrate their professional skills and achievements. The requirements for the competition are updated every year and become increasingly strict.

Since 2016, students of our college have annually participated in the Worldskills Kazakhstan championship.

Along with the development of the WorldSkills movement, the college is also developing an expert community (7 people) from among teachers, and one of the experts received the status of “International Expert” in the “Hotel Receptionist” competency.

WorldSkills standards include a list of skills and abilities, key specialists in the relevant areas of competence, the percentage of their application and their significance for assessment. These college standards are observed in the development of curricula, the development of practical skills, monitoring of student learning outcomes and preparation for regional and national WorldSkills Kazakhstan championships, as well as international competitions such as WorldSkills and EuroSkills.
