Issyk Lake, Enbekshikazakh District, Almaty Region
A large-scale off-campus team-building event for first-year students was held, organized by the educational department in collaboration with group advisors. In the scenic location near Issyk Lake, first-year students got to know each other, developed teamwork skills, and enjoyed a memorable and engaging experience.
Purpose of the event:
To create a comfortable and friendly student environment, develop communication and teamwork skills, and support adaptation to college life.
Program included:
- Welcome speech by the college administration
• Warm-up and team-building icebreaker games: “Tie the Knot,” “Common Traits,” “Name + Gesture”
• Active competitions: “Relay Crossing,” tug of war, and sports challenges
• Creative activities: designing group flags, slogans, and short presentations
• Award ceremony for the most active participants and teams with certificates and prizes
Participants:
Over 250 first-year students, 50 student leaders, and 9 group advisors.
Results:
- Students showed initiative and creativity
• First trust-based connections were formed within and between groups
• Student engagement in extracurricular life increased
• A positive and motivating atmosphere was created for the academic year
Conclusion:
The team-building event was more than just a game — it marked a true start to student life. Such activities help students feel part of a united and supportive community, especially during the first months of study. We thank all participants and organizers for an inspiring and unforgettable day.
